Miami District Office - EEOC 101: Knowing the Laws and Avoiding the Pitfalls
It’s not unusual for people who’ve taken on leadership roles to quickly realize the importance of having a working knowledge of EEO. As a manager, team lead, HR representative or new business owner, understanding your responsibilities under EEOC laws and avoiding legal liability is every bit as important as knowing how to supervise and motivate your employees. This virtual workshop, taught by EEOC experts, will delve into the world of federal employment discrimination laws and give you a solid foundation to circumvent potentially costly issues and problems. It's also a great refresher training for those with some background but who still need clarification or have questions. During this training, we will discuss the nuts and bolts of the laws EEOC enforces: Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Equal Pay Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and Title II of the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act. You’ll learn what you should do if you become aware of discrimination, harassment or retaliation in your workplace. You will also be given a quick review of the EEOC charge filing and investigative process. Whether you’ve been promoted into management, opened your own business, are a union representative, been made a department head, or are new in the HR world, this webinar is exactly what you need to steer clear of legal landmines and be successful in your job.
